Inventory

Inventory is an itemized list of property for which each Center/Department is held accountable. Property consists BOTH capital and controlled items. Inventory items are also referred to as ASSETS. They are included in TAMHSC financial net worth.

Inventory is centralized at the TAMHSC Finance and Admin level, conforms to policies of the Texas A&M University System, as well as policy and procedures set forth by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts State Property accounting system. Procedures outline rules for recording, reporting, control, and disposal of all property.

  

IBT Accountable Property Officers (APO)

  1. Center Director/Department Head
  2. Responsible for the control of all property entrusted to the activities within their center/dept.
  3. Financially liable for loss or damage to inventory that result from negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care to safeguard, maintain, and service inventory

  

IBT Alternate Accountable Property Officers (Alt APO)

  1. Day-to-day care of inventory
  2. Assist APO with ongoing property management for center/dept
  3. Tag all new property
  4. Forms completion
  5. Maintain center/dept property records
  6. Coordinate annual physical inventory certification with TAMHSC Property Manager
