Research interests of Weimin He, Ph.D. --- The function of PPAR? in the regulation of adipogenesis, lipogenesis, lipid and glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity in physiological condition and the roles of PPAR in the occurrence of obesity, inflammation, obesity, diabetes, and atherosclerosis in pathological situation using mouse models of tissue-specific knockout of PPAR?. Dr. He is also interested in studying the pleotropic roles of PPAR? in metabolism as well as other aspects of biological processes such as osteoporosis, cardiac and renal function and reproduction by generation and characterization of more tissue-specific PPAR? knockout mouse models. In addition, Dr. He is working on elucidating the mechanism by which estrogen receptor sensitizes insulin action in females. |
